- Brian is learning new words everyday, and is now putting them into a sentence. The other day when I got home he said “Comes upstairs dad”.
- Lena has her first tooth in, and can now get up on her hands and knees.

We (Karen, our Lawyer, and I) meet with the Adoption Worker, her supervisor, and the supervisor’s supervisor today. They seemed to hear us out, and seemed to sympathize with our concerns. Some of the highlights:
- When asked for contact information the biological parents failed to inform them that we would be willing to take Kerri in.
- DHS was only following” their policy”.
- We expressed our concern that we are the ones that had to identify problem with Kerri’s care before anything was done about it: (Shoes that were too small, very dry skin, delayed development).
- This only thing that has caused this “unfortunate” set of circumstances is timing.
We will not know the results of the meeting for another 10 days, as we wait for the letter to come in the mail.
My mom summed it up well, “yadda, yadda, yadda, we will get back to you.”
I will post another update when we get the letter.
Thank you for all your support!
Update:
We received the letter; due to their policy, they are not going to change their recommendation, so now it’s off to MCI (Michigan Children’s Institute) to make the decision.
